This is where you can learn more about Cheered on Mom, me, and my family.
Hello there! I’m Laura, an overly excitable stay-at-home-mom to two sweet and spunky kiddos, Kai (age five) and Sylvie (age two). For lots of fun little facts about me, I dished about my weirdness right here.
I’ve been married to my amazing husband for more than 15 years. He’s a mental health therapist who has dedicated his life to helping others. He goes by “Ry” on the blog.
I graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in English and a love for inductive study and my husband (not in that order). I’m a published author in the Parenting and Relationships category on Amazon, and have shared my writing at CafeMom, (in)courage, The Better Mom, and more.
I’m sharing a free gift with you! I’ve written a free inspirational eBook just for you called Moms of the Bible, and you can grab it by subscribing to the Cheered on Mom newsletter!
My parenting journey has been normally abnormal, just like yours. Ry and I started to grow our family after 13 years of marriage and now have two kiddos who keep me on my toes at all times. They are the light of my life and the reason I’m wearing that messy mom bun.
I’m a believer who needs Jesus every single day, and I love to share grace and encouragement with others, which is one of the reasons I started Cheered on Mom.
I love blogging for other women and moms who could learn from my mistakes and use a little encouragement. My main passion here is to cheer you on, let you know you aren’t alone, to share some real-life mommy moments, and to throw around grace and love like I’m made of the stuff. (Thanks, Bob Goff.)
I’ve never been happier or felt better about where I’m at in life, at home with my kiddos, taking on the biggest ministry and hardest work I’ll ever know. God makes sure to keep things light around here, with tons of gleefully silly moments and a few disgusting ones to round out the experience.
You are a Cheered on Mom.
You can expect about two posts a week here. I hope to share a post that lifts you up in your spiritual life on Mondays, and one that speaks to parenting little kids and mom life on Thursdays.
I hope to share the gift of encouragement and inspiration with you every time you come by. Mom life isn’t easy, and it’s my vision to help you understand God’s grace as well as feel unconditional friendship when you’re here.
You don’t have to be perfect, and it’s your weaknesses that display God’s power. I know that you’re a good mom, and that God gave you those precious kids on purpose.
If you’re new and looking for a jumping off point, start here. And please feel free to drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you!
