My name is Laura, and I’m a podcast fanatic. I wasn’t always this way, though. And my podcast obsession has gone in a direction I never anticipated: home podcasts are my new favorite.
They’re designed to help us maintain, organize, clean, and otherwise enjoy our living spaces. I love these podcasts not because I love the topic, but because I really want to improve my cleaning and organizing game (or lack thereof.)
I’m a stay-at-home mom who could use some motivational help in this area. We’re in the process of moving, and I’ve been cleaning and organizing out of necessity. It also might be my favorite topic because of the time of year and the fact that I’ve done my best to get on the bandwagon with Spring cleaning.
All I know is that these home podcasts rock, and I think you’ll absolutely LOVE them. (You have checked out my list of podcasts to inspire Christian Moms, right?)
Psst! Occasionally a podcast I love will include statements I don’t agree with, so keep in mind that I’m not endorsing every opinion included in them.
Keeping Your Home Podcasts
These podcasts will especially keep homemakers inspired, especially if you’re feeling a little down about making the time and spending the effort on your home. Trust me, I know what it is to struggle with life balance as a stay-at-home mom.
Cultivating the Lovely
This is the podcast all about pouring the labor, care and study into the roles that God has given us as wives, moms, women, homemakers and His children. It is meant to inspire us to be living with passion, intention, beauty and delight in the everyday moments, right where we’re at. Come sit down and have a cup of coffee with MacKenzie Koppa and her guests as they discuss how they fill up more in order to pour out to their families and learn to cultivate loveliness in all sorts of other ways.
For more than 25 years Donna Otto has shared inspiration and practical wisdom. She is an Author and founder of Modern Homemakers (formerly Homemakers By Choice), a national organization which offers weekly teaching for a new generation of “counter culture” women who have made the choice to stay at home. To hundreds of young homemakers, Donna has been the wise, fun, Godly Aunt every young woman wishes she had. Each teaching session encourages women in their role as a woman, wife, mother, and keeper of the home.

Minimalism and Intentional Home Podcasts
I love the biblical truth that wise moms are intentional in building our homes.
A wise woman builds her home, but a foolish woman tears it down with her own hands.Proverbs 14:1, NLT
I’m also fascinated with minimalism. That being said, I really don’t want to feel discouraged about my efforts in these areas. These podcasts are wonderful at introducing their ideas in a positive, inspiring way.
The Minimalists Podcast
Joshua Fields Millburn & Ryan Nicodemus discuss living a meaningful life with less. With more than 50 million downloads and 6,000 listener reviews, The Minimalists Podcast is often the #1 Health podcast on Apple Podcasts, and it occasionally charts in the Top 10 of all shows.
The Purpose Show
Mom life: we’re surrounded with the message that it’s the tired life, the no-time-for-myself life, the HARD life. And while it is hard and full of lots of servitude, the idea that motherhood means a joy-less life is something I’m passionate about putting a stop to. I’m on a mission to help you stop counting down the minutes till bedtime (at least most days). I want you to stop cleaning up after your kids’ childhood, and start being present for it – start enjoying it. I believe in John 10:10, that we are called to abundant life, and I know mothers are NOT excluded from that promise. Join me in conversations about simplicity, minimalism, and lots of other good stuff that leads to a life of less for the sake of enjoying more in motherhood. I’m Allie Casazza, and this is The Purpose Show.
The Art of Simple
Conversations about living well and ignoring the rest — with author and host Tsh Oxenreider. Here, we like to write and talk about music, style, history, and technology, as well as travel, relationships, books, self-care, work and careers, parenting, and beyond.
This isn’t a space for preaching dogmatically the benefits of simple living — it’s simply the lens through which we filter what we care about.
The Slow Home
We live life in the fast lane. We race to keep up with The Joneses. We are over-worked, over-committed and over-stressed, and we compete on how busy and important and sleep-deprived we are. But we don’t need to.
There is an ever-growing group of people who are saying no to life lived at 110%. They are opting to slow down, simplify, say no and focus on the things that are truly important. I’m one of them, and in The Slow Home Podcast I chat to others who have adopted a similar approach to life – slowing down, opting out, saying no.
Listen in to learn what makes people change, how life is different once you adopt a slower way of life, and what their advice is to anyone looking to get out of the fast lane.
This group of home podcasts is going to give you endless inspiration! I’ve been listening for awhile now and I can’t soak in enough of the good info.
Now, trust me when I say, I’m not magically becoming a tidy homemaker and a cleaning queen. I enjoy some cleaning tasks, but loathe some others, and I bet you do as well.
Just maybe, I’ll come up with some strategies to be a happier homemaker because of these podcasts. I hope you’re inspired, too!
