This past week, we celebrated my grandma’s life. She’s joining her husband of 50+ earthly years in heaven, and I’m so glad for her. I’ll miss her, though.
She was an OB tech/nurse and then co-owned a nursery for babies before retiring. She was all about family and, after God, we were the first thing on her heart. She was a huge blessing to all of us.
My grandma was super kind, and strong, too. She had a good sense of humor, and she was a weather bug like me. She was a good cook — I shared her recipe for sugar cookies (soooo good!) on a friend’s blog a few months ago.
I’ll be making all kinds of cookies and other recipes from my grandma this year. Don’t you just love how recipes help us hold on to memories?
July was a good month for seeing family. Here are some pictures of some favorite moments at the farm!
My Kitchen Aid Mixer
I’ve been averaging one batch of cookies a week since I got my Kitchen Aid mixer! *psst! Amazon has it on sale right now!*
So far I’ve made chocolate chip cookies, M&M cookies, and chocolate crinkle cookies. It was kind of therapeutic for me to bake and bring cookies to my family, and the kids sure have been loving it, too!
I used to think that having a stand mixer wouldn’t make a lot of difference in my baking/cooking, but it DOES. Everything is so much easier, faster, and fun when I bake now.
Gardening videos on YouTube
I learned all about how to take care of day lilies this week by watching YouTube videos. I’m not sure why I never thought to do this before, but I’m glad I did! If you have plants of any kind and don’t know what to do with them, try YouTube! 🙂
Here are the videos I found on daylilies.
Freebie of the Week
Because July was filled with lots of little trips to see family, I haven’t been keeping up with the freebies I’d like to share. I’ll get back on track soon!
Tell me what you’re loving this week. And have a happy Friday!
