A Caramel Latte on a Special Day
This week, an article I wrote was published at (in)courage, one of my favorite sites in the universe. It was an honor to share my words there, but more importantly, God has been answering my prayers about those words reaching the right people. It was wonderful to see so many comments from women who are going through a big change and were inspired, or from those who have been through something similar.
I’d love for you to read it here!
On the day it was published, Ry gave me the royal treatment. He even bought me a caramel latte from our coffee shop (YUM). Just so you get an idea of how glamorous my life is, this was a text exchange we had later that morning.
The “special day” I’m talking about was a PJs and Pizza day at preschool. It was a big day all around. 🙂 And Sylvie is in a phase where she politely declines diaper changes…okay, sometimes she’s not so polite about it. We’re teaching her how to handle this better, and I’m pulling out all the stops to try to make diaper changing fun. In a few months, it’ll be time to potty train her, and I don’t know whether I’m excited about that or dreading it.

Creating a Vision Board
After coming across an awesome blog post with instructions on how to do this (see #5 below!), I made a vision board for 2018 that expresses some of my goals for the year. And I LOVE it! I’ve said this before, but if something is pretty, I’m about 100 times more likely to use it or get value from it.
My collage is about God’s guidance and making tough decisions for our kids, enjoying special times as a family, reading and self-care, my Bible verse and word of the year (you can get your scripture cards in my shop), taking a small vacation with our kids, and more.
If you love pretty things like I do, I highly recommend doing this! All you need are some lovely photos that symbolize your goals and a photo app that can create a collage. For better instructions, hop on down to the pin at the bottom!
THREE
Online Grocery Shopping
Have you tried this yet? A lot of stores are offering online grocery shopping, and it’s glorious. I know this because we tried ordering our groceries for the first time last week. I was sick when I’d normally go shopping, and it was amazing being able to get what I wanted from the store without leaving the couch. A few hours later, the groceries were ready to pick up! Our store does this for free if the groceries are over $100. We just barely made the mark. 🙂 There’s also a delivery service, but I’m not sure how much the fee is, and we didn’t quite feel the need for that. Someday, maybe! It’s nice to know it’s there.
If you haven’t tried it yet, check your local Wal-Mart and grocery stores to see if it’s available. Then, shop from your computer, and enjoy.
FOUR
PopSockets
I’ve joined the masses who have discovered it’s really handy to have a handle on your cell phone. A PopSocket is a grip that sticks to the back of your phone (any kind) that you can pop out when you need a stand or a better one-handed grip. I learned the hard way that other brands of this type of thing don’t work for me. Specifically, I break them. This one (from Amazon) is sturdy and pretty, too..
Is it weird that PopSockets make me sing the “Hot Pockets” song in a Jim Gaffigan voice?

My Favorite Pin of the Week
Lattes, Lilacs, and Lullabies is a blog you should visit if you haven’t already. That whole “it helps if it’s pretty” problem of mine? Stephanie has it too! Her online space is beautiful and filled with awesome tips. She’s a nurse and has a heart for new moms, but she also writes about home decor, travel, blogging ideas, recipes, and faith.
I found her through her article on Creating a Vision Board using PicMonkey, and I was hooked. Go check it out!

I’m on Pinterest here, if you want to see what else I’m pinning lately.
I’d love to see what you’re pinning too!
Tell me what you’re loving this week. And have a happy Friday!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR POST EING PUBLISHED!! That is amazing!!
Second of all, I totally sing Hot Pocket for pop socket, too! I’m cracking up that you do this too!
Thanks so much, Lindsay! Glad I’m not alone in my Pop Sockets song. Too funny!
Kansas City?? That’s where I live! 🙂
Cool! 😀 KC has the closest LegoLand, so it’s on our radar.
Yay! I love your vision board! Thanks for sharing my blog on your gorgeous site. 💗
You’re so welcome, Stephanie! 🙂
Beautiful article Laura- thank you so much for sharing 🙂
LOL for the longest time I had no clue what those “things” on the back of phones were. Then I found out and now I want one!!
