Happy 2018! It’s my first Friday favorites of the new year, and I’m sooo excited! Is anyone else having a great first week of the year? I really hope so!
We spent Christmas at my parents’ farm, surrounded by falling snow and mounds of blankets. We went to church together on Christmas Eve, baked cookies (okay, so my sister Amanda made the delicious cookies and I was just one of the people to eat them), watched movies, opened presents, and kids and adults alike played with our new gifts.
Our 16th Anniversary
Ry and I had a lovely winter wedding sixteen years ago, a few days after Christmas.
I can’t believe it’s been that long! Those sixteen years have gone by fast.
This year, my parents offered to babysit so that Ry and I could go on a real date. We went to a coffee shop, got a window seat to watch the snow fall, and then we saw the new Star Wars movie (loved it!). We used a theater gift certificate that had been burning a hole in Ry’s pocket for TWO YEARS. Moms, I’m sure you get this–It’s hard to get out sometimes, isn’t it? I was so thankful for this date!
Sorry, ladies–I happen to be married to the most wonderful guy in the world. Words fail me to describe what a blessing my husband is.
Sylvie’s 2nd Birthday
The day after our anniversary, our sweet girl turned two. It’s an age that suits her well, and I’m so excited to see where this year takes her and her kind, funny, talkative, spirited self.
Here she is, thinking, “this is MY year.”
I rang in the New Year at home with my sweet kiddos and a coughing husband. We still had a good day, despite Ry’s cold, and we all ate our black eyed peas, of course. Do any of you do the same?
Here on my little blog, I kicked the year off by opening a shop. There’s only one product in it so far, but it’s one I think you’ll love. I designed some pretty scripture cards to inspire you every month of the year. Go take a look!
My Favorite Pin of the Week
My first reaction to this list is something like this: WHAAAAAAT?!!! This is a wonderful list of books coming out just in the next few months. Go check it out!
I’m new to Kaitlyn’s blog, but I’m already a fan. She loves reading, writing, and she encourages us to all to share the message in our mess.
I’m on Pinterest here, if you want to see what else I’m pinning lately. I’d love to see what you’re pinning too!
Tell me what you’re loving this week. And have a happy Friday!
