Hooray for Friday Favorites! This week was a little different than I’d planned. We had a great day on Monday, but Kai and Sylvie both got sick, which meant sleep issues and staying inside. Good thing we know how to be cozy around here!
All the rainy weather we had this week, combined with my kids’ sickness had me daydreaming about having a great Halloween, with everyone healthy and happy. So today I’m rolling with that. π
ONE
Costumes
I don’t know why, exactly, but we’ve never been big on costumes around here. We pretend constantly, but don’t usually dress up as the people or animals we’re pretending to be. Well, before sickness hit our house, we took the kids on a trip to the (awesome, local) store to look at costumes. It actually took some convincing, but once we got this police costume on Kai, he was a BIG fan of playing dress up.
If you want to grab them for your kiddos, the police costume is here and Belle’s dress for toddlers is here. Sylvie wears 18-24 month clothes, and the XS fits her well enough now but it’ll grow with her to a knee-length dress when she’s another year or two older. Hooray! It’s gorgeous and super high-quality (for a costume), just watch out for stray glitter the first time or two you use it. And I love the muscles built in to Kai’s police outfit.
I’m calling them Beauty and the Beat (cop). Or the Princess and the Police. Which is better?
TWO
Fall Instagram Accounts
It’s confession time: I’ve been following these five fall-themed Instagram accounts for months now! It turns out there are people out there who are devoted to sharing beautiful fall-themed pictures year round. YEAR ROUND. I added these to my feed for a little extra Halloween happiness no matter what time of year it is. π It’ll be our little secret.
If you want to follow along, just click on those images to get to the Instagram account.
THREE
The Movie Clue
Did you know that back in the mid-80s, the board game Clue was made into a movie with an all-star cast, and it’s a cult classic? My family and I quote this movie year round. It’s hilarious and one of my favorite movies of ALL TIME. So every October, Ry and I watch Clue. It’s as close to a Halloween-type movie as I get. (It’s not scary.)
I love it. Did I mention that already? I recommend grabbing some popcorn and preparing for a seriously silly mystery with Tim Curry, Madeline Kahn, and Christopher Lloyd (to name a few).
FOUR
Fall Foods Board
I’m also super excited about Halloween and fall foods. I saw Shay’s witch’s brew hot chocolate and knew I wanted to share it along with all the other foods I’ve been drooling over lately.

Oh, I can so identify with Erica’s latest post called To the Mom Who Wants a Break (But Not Really) over on Whimsical September. Β Erica has a wonderful lifestyle blog that keeps it real and also makes me smile at the same time. Here she’s sharing her thoughts on those times she wants a break from mommy life but also struggles when she gets time to herself.
IβmΒ on Pinterest here, if you want to see what else Iβm pinning lately. Iβd love to see what youβre pinning too!
Tell me what youβre loving this week. And have a happy Friday!
