Making Something Old New(ish)
One of my favorite things to do is find horribly dusty antiques and clean them up. So this past weekend, I scrounged through my parents’ shed, which is full of dusty family heirlooms, and found a couple of things worth reviving.
The first thing is an antique coffee grinder that found a place in my parents’ kitchen after we cleaned it and treated it with some coconut oil.

Isn’t it so pretty?
The second was an old box that held soap, originally…Chameleon Glycerin Transparent Toilet Soap from the 1920s to be exact. When I found it, this box was holding all sorts of things that I either couldn’t identify or didn’t want to. This one took a little bleach as well as soap and water.

This box, in my estimation, is worth $-0.25 in today’s market, but to me, it has…more value than that. I’m still getting over the fear I had of what was inside when I found it, so I guess time will tell what it’s worth to me.
TWO
Fall Potpourri
I’m going to write more about this next week, but here’s a teaser for you:
Grab some fall fruit and seasonings and get them in your crockpot! It’s amazing!
THREE
Cute Hats
We broke out some of our warm hats from last season, and two of them still fit! Funnily enough, the ones that still cover my kiddo’s ears are both animals. Warning: if you have a hard time with cuteness, you may be at the wrong blog.
FOUR
Fresh Honey
Bees are as close as my parents get to owning livestock. They started raising bees two years ago, and I LOVE both occasionally helping take care of the bees and, of course, taking some honey off their hands. Local honey is so great to have around, especially this time of year! We had used up our last bottle, and just like that, we got some more.

Prediction: this honey will sweeten many a chai this season.

What I’m Pinning: My Favorite Pin of the Week
This week we were all hit with devastating news. Sometimes I can’t really find the words I’d like to say. I thought Julia of Motherhood Matters expressed her reaction so well and made sure to offer hope to us all…please go check it out.
I’m on Pinterest here, if you want to see what else I’m pinning lately. I’d love to see what you’re pinning too!
Tell me what you’re loving this week. And have a happy Friday!
