My son’s preschool didn’t start until Wednesday, so our back-to-school vibe was right in line with the weather: Autumnal. We wore long sleeved tees and I confess, I may have put on some deep brown leather mid-calf boots. Once we got there, I saw at least two other moms in flip-flops. They must not get excited like I do about a slight chill in the air.
Anyway, this was Kai’s second go with preschool, because he went to a shorter version of it last year as well as pre-k camp in the summer. He was pretty ready to go!
I was proud of him and excited for what he’s going to learn and do this year. By the end of the year, he’s going to know some sight words, and how to write his first and last name. They are going on a lot of field trips, including one at the end of this month. I can’t believe how this moment is upon me as a parent, but I also know this is nothing compared to sending him off to kindergarten, where he’ll be away from me morning and afternoon, Monday through Friday.
May this year go slowly.
On the labor day weekend, we visited my parents, and we threw together this two-ingredient cake. One of those ingredients is PUMPKIN, friends. I’m so glad my mom found this recipe, because it was probably the BEST cake I’ve ever tasted. All caps are necessary in describing this cake.
I didn’t get a great picture, because I was too busy eating.
I’m so eager to surround myself with Fall flavors that I made a PSL lip scrub. Go check it out. You can make it easily, I promise!
I love watching my kids explore and play at the farm. They had such a great time running around there and making memories like feeding the dog, eating some watermelon, smelling the flowers, or “driving” a tractor.
Happy Planning, Fall Style
In case you’re wondering, I’m still going strong with planning using my MAMBI happy planner. I now feel like I’d be lost without it, because, well, I kind of was. Next week is my first fall themed layout. It’s such a big deal. 😉
Ignore the very crooked washi. Oops, now you’re not ignoring it.
What I’m Pinning: My Favorite Pin of the Week
Have you ever visited the blog I Choose Brave? Well, I’m so glad I have. On her blog, Katie shares encouragement for us to be brave for God’s glory. She’s down-to-earth and completely easy to relate to. I love that she’s a believing mama of four, raising her kids with her husband and homeschooling on a homestead in Washington. But does she make her life seem perfect? Nope, she kind of does the opposite, so we know she’s in our corner. Today I’m sharing her article called Learning to Thrive when You Feel a Little Undone.
If you’re a busy mama feeling a little bit undone, go check it out!
I’m on Pinterest here, if you want to see what else I’m pinning lately. I’d love to see what you’re pinning too!
Tell me what you’re loving this week. And have a happy Friday!
